I am Johnathan, a product designer from Houston.

My most recent work was with Certain Lending where I helped develop a design system to redesign the marketing website and the borrower dashboard. Having been a part of this young, rapidly growing startup environment has taught me how to balance business goals with engineering constraints as I advocated for the user. My experience at Pennebaker, a branding and digital marketing agency, has shown me that I love the human-centered design methods, workshopping a problem, and creating delightful experiences.

Growing up in Houston has given me a diverse upbringing. I embrace all cultures and enjoy working with people of different values and beliefs. I try to bring different styles and perspectives into the design I create. In my free time, I like to go mountain climbing, snowboarding, and drink boba.

"Johnny made a meaningful contribution to several important projects during his co-op, including a major website redesign that we are very happy with. His combination of design and engineering skills make him a versatile team member. I look forward to keeping in touch as a mentor and watching his career progress."

"Johnathan has a keen eye for app design. When using any of his products you can tell right away there was time and careful thinking in the implementation of even the smallest details. After all, this is what makes apps appeal to users."

"Johnathan demonstrates a consistent commitment to self-improvement. In my class, he regularly had great questions that added to the learning for the whole class and would always attend office hours with prepared materials that he wanted to discuss further. He takes responsibility for his own learning and makes effective use of his resources and mentors around him - powerful skills that will serve him well as he continues to grow in his professional career.”
